Certified Nurses Aide

I. SUMMARY

A Home Health Aide shall perform personal care and assist clients with activities of daily living (ADL’s) under the direct and indirect supervision of a registered nurse. The registered nurse will prepare a written aide care plan personalized for each client prior to any aide care. She/he will at all time respect the client and others dignity, privacy and personal property.

II. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
One year or more direct client care experience in a hospital or other nursing facility; one year full-time experience in direct care in an agency setting within the past 5 years; currently enrolled nursing student in LVN of RN program with a certification of having completed basic nursing skill competence.

Licensure:
State approved home health aide or nurse aide certification program and present original or official copy of certificate with no findings of abuse or neglect or misappropriation of client property by the aide shall be acceptable.
